The Disability Discrimination Act 1995, Part III Part 3 of the Disability Discrimination Act 1995 places duties on those providing goods, facilities or services to the public and those selling, letting or managing premises. From 1 October 2004, these obligations mean your premises must not make access impossible or unreasonably difficult for disabled people. This includes easy and safe approaches to entrances, ramps/slopes with anti-slip surfaces and clearly marked steps. The DDA still applies in Northern Ireland.
